Shipping in the US: Many carriers are implementing new processes to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, which is resulting in some delays. You may view operational impacts for our primary carrier here: USPS.

We understand our carrier partners are experiencing a surge in deliveries, so we appreciate your patience should any unforeseen delays occur. If you’d like to move up your shipment to ensure your refill arrives a few days earlier (to get ahead of any potential carrier delays), you may do so in your account or email [email protected] and we’d be happy to help.

Shipping internationally: Local carriers in certain countries are experiencing delays and some closures. We are closely monitoring the situation with our global delivery partner, Passport Shipping, and will notify you immediately of any serious changes, such as ceasing all inbound shipments to your country.

Passport Shipping has compiled a live feed so you may stay informed of updates in your country.

If you have any concerns regarding your shipments, we’re here to help—[email protected].

Although the virus can survive for a short period on some surfaces, it is unlikely to be spread from domestic or international mail, products, or packaging. While it is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, it may be possible to get the virus by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your mouth, nose, or possibly eyes. The CDC recommends washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol after collecting mail.

Yes. Our extensive safety measures across our manufacturing chain have not changed—our probiotics are cultured in a sterile solution, in a laboratory setting, and undergo whole-genome sequencing to ensure that they are free of any contaminants.

Additionally, we implement over 50 quality assurance and quality control checkpoints to monitor purity under both US and European protocols (including cGMP + HACCP) throughout the production cycle with no skip-lot testing (this means we test each ingredient batch prior to encapsulation and each batch after manufacture). We also adhere to the highest global regulatory standards and rigorously test beyond what’s required to ensure clinically-studied dosages with demonstrated quality, efficacy, and safety.

The Daily Synbiotic has not been assessed in any research pertaining to COVID-19. Our product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, including COVID-19. At this time, there is no evidence that any supplements are helpful in reducing the risk of COVID-19.

The WHO and the CDC recommend preventative actions to help reduce the risk of spreading and contracting the disease, such as: frequent hand washing, practicing physical distancing, avoiding face touching, and practicing good respiratory hygiene such as sneezing and coughing into your elbow or a tissue.

As this continues to be a rapidly evolving situation—we recommend staying informed and following local recommendations and regulations provided for your community.

Yes—if helpful, we’ve worked with our ecosystem of scientists, doctors, and researchers to compile a COVID-19 Highlight on our Instagram that breaks down FAQs, recommendations, resources, and research. We’ll continue to add to this as we learn more from public health and the scientific and medical communities.

We also recommend staying informed through reputable sources such as the CDC and WHO.

The Daily Synbiotic

Seed’s Daily Synbiotic combines 24 clinically-studied probiotic strains (not found in yogurt, most supplements, or fermented foods and beverages) with a non-fermenting prebiotic compound isolated and purified from Indian pomegranate.

It’s the first to take a Microbe-Systems Approach with strain-specific benefits beyond digestive health, including skin health, heart health, gut immune function, gut barrier integrity, and micronutrient synthesis. It’s also the first formulation to include strains that synthesize folate and increase production within the body.

The Daily Synbiotic is meant for humans ages 18+.

You are home to a community of 38,000,000,000,000 microorganisms (mostly bacteria) that live in and on you. They perform critical functions like digesting food, managing inflammation, and synthesizing key vitamins, metabolites and neurotransmitters. This is your microbiome.

However, modern living disturbed the balance of this ecosystem. Antibiotic overuse combined with alcohol, sugar, tobacco, disrupted sleep, city-living, decreased breastfeeding, stress, poor diet, and other environmental factors, have depleted the diversity and richness of our microbiomes and impacted our health.

This goes beyond simple digestive issues. The first of its kind, our Daily Synbiotic includes clinically-studied probiotic strains that deliver core benefits to the gastrointestinal system which, in turn, influence systemic health.

The Daily Synbiotic contains probiotic strains that have been clinically-studied to provide benefits around gastrointestinal function, skin health, heart health, gut immune function, gut barrier integrity, and micronutrient synthesis. You may access the strain-specific clinical studies associated with each benefit in our Reference Library.

Next-generation probiotics

A proprietary formulation comprised of 24 strains characterized at academic institutions and research partners in Italy, Spain, Belgium, US, and Japan. 23 of our strains are human-derived and one strain was isolated from fruit (screened against 400+ strains of the same species) specifically because it has clinically demonstrated the ability to help promote healthy cholesterol levels. Our benefits have been validated in 16 strain-specific,  published human studies as well as 13 in vitro/ex vivo mechanistic studies.

Nested Capsule Technology + Patented algae delivery system

Bacteria are fragile—they are sensitive to light, temperature, and moisture. In many cases, they hardly survive the trip from manufacturer to store shelf, much less your digestive process (think stomach acids and bile). We took care of this. Our exclusive nested capsule technology ensures bacteria stay alive and viable through digestion and make it to your colon, where their work begins. We use a patented algae delivery system to provide additional protection for our most sensitive strains. This also means there’s no synthetic or chemical coating, and that the Daily Synbiotic is shelf stable for 18 months and requires no refrigeration.

The Daily Synbiotic is free from: Dairy • Gluten • Soy • GMOs • Binders • Fillers • Preservatives • 14 classes of allergens defined by European Food and Safety Authority (EFSA)

It adheres to the following diets: Vegan • Vegetarian • Ketogenic

The Daily Synbiotic does not contain genetically modified organisms, and as such, is classified as non-GMO.

However, as a company grounded in science, we also want to ensure that labeling our product as non-GMO doesn’t contribute to blanket fears and misunderstandings of GMOs in general. Just as we aim to steward the term probiotics, there are scientists and researchers working to steward the field of synthetic biology and bioengineering towards applications that can save many lives (i.e. insulin—which without genetic engineering we would not be able to meet the demand for) and ensure humanity’s survival on this planet, while protecting the planet itself (i.e. genetically engineered bacteria that can create biomaterials to replace plastic or produce biofuels affordably, efficiently, and sustainably).

Like bacteria, GMOs have faced a long and complex history. Like any industry or category, there are those who don’t have the consumer’s best interests in mind, but also those who will relentlessly push for us to use biotechnology responsibly, for the benefit of the planet and its people. Whatever your stance on GMOs, the only way forward is an open mind and open dialogue.

Yes, the Daily Synbiotic is safe to take during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, but as with all new changes during this time, we suggest that you speak with your physician.

Fun company fact: Seed Co-Founders Ara and Raja were introduced when Ara was pregnant. Her journey through pregnancy and breastfeeding (with Raja’s guidance and education) inspired their collaborative vision for Seed.

Just like with any new diet, product, or change, your body may experience a temporary acclimation period. In the first 3-5 days of taking your Daily Synbiotic, you may feel some gastrointestinal discomfort, abdominal tightness, mild nausea, or changes in your stool. This is very normal.

An immediate physiological reaction is a sign that our probiotics are viable and attuning to your system as they move through your gastrointestinal tract. Any discomfort should subside within the first one to two weeks.

As you begin Seeding, we suggest this acclimation protocol:

Day 1-3
Take 1 capsule daily.

Day 4
When you’re ready, increase to full dose of 2 capsules at once, daily.

We’re here for any questions—[email protected]

How to Use

Adults—take 2 capsules daily, all at once. Preferably on an empty stomach to limit exposure to digestive enzymes and bile salts.

2 capsules, daily.

Every individual’s body is different, and the benefits you ‘feel’ (reduced bloating or more regular bowel movements) are often just the most visceral ones.

You may feel results in as little as 24-48 hours due to localized benefits like improved digestion. Other longer term benefits like cardiovascular health and gut immune function may take longer, or you may not notice anything at all. That’s completely normal. As long as you continue your daily intake, those beneficial microbes are doing their work inside to program, sustain, and enhance your health.

Yes, the Daily Synbiotic is safe to take with other supplements.

We recommend taking the Daily Synbiotic on an empty stomach to limit exposure to digestive enzymes and bile salts. However, you know your body best—if it’s more comfortable for you to take with food, please feel free.

It’s safe to take more than the recommended dosage, though there is not necessarily any added benefit to do so.

It’s safe to take if expired, however, we only guarantee potency and efficacy up until the expiration date. If your product is expired when you receive your order, please let us know and we will replace it free of charge.

We don’t recommend this, as bacteria are sensitive to light. Our jar is designed to protect your Daily Synbiotic, so your capsules should be stored in it. Every first purchase comes with a complimentary travel vial, which holds 14 capsules (1 week’s worth), which is also safe for transporting your Daily Synbiotic on the go.

There’s no harm if you miss a day, or even if you miss a few. But for optimal results, daily intake is encouraged.

This is because our probiotics are transient microbes, which journey through your colon (where the majority of your microbiome resides) to activate systemic benefits through programmed interactions with your existing bacteria and your body. This is why continuous intake is important—it’s the clinically-studied dosage to optimize for the most impact.

The short answer is no. No refrigeration necessary.

It’s a question we receive often, since many probiotics are sold in the refrigerated section at grocery stores and retailers. However, contrary to perishable food products, refrigeration doesn’t mean ‘freshness’ or superiority. In fact, if a probiotic does not survive at ambient temperature outside of the refrigerator, it can reflect weak stability of the product, low viable organism count, or inadequate overages in formulation.

Our probiotic strains are stable at ambient temperature (up to 79° F). If your home is consistently warmer for extended periods, consider refrigerating in an oxygen tight container to avoid exposure to moisture.

Yes. We believe that probiotics and prebiotics, alongside diet, nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle, are cornerstone tools to building foundational health. Cool—you’ve met our sustainable refill system.

The planet is really important to us, so we’re constantly looking for materials that are sustainable and Earth-friendly, without sacrificing the safety and protection of your Daily Synbiotic. Our jars are made of glass, which is infinitely recyclable, but the less we put out there, the better. That’s why we ask you to keep your reusable glass jar and send you monthly refills instead.

All shipments after your first will come in a certified home-compostable, bio-based pouch that is oxygen and moisture resistant, while being planet-safe. It’s easy—just open the pouch and refill your jar.

In early May, we made a minor update to the prebiotic blend in our Daily Synbiotic—Scandinavian chaga and pine bark were removed to accommodate an increased dosage of our primary prebiotic, punicalagin (from Indian pomegranate). Our 24 strain probiotic formulation is still encapsulated in the Probiotic Inner Capsule, which is nested in the now-powdered Prebiotic Outer Capsule.

While you may notice small cosmetic changes in your refill capsules, this has no impact on our clinically-studied benefits, and results from our continued close work with the FDA as we move our Daily Synbiotic into upcoming clinical trials—the first will be conducted at Harvard Medical School – Beth Israel Deaconess to assess the clinical efficacy of our Daily Synbiotic in treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and the second under Health Canada approval to study the Daily Synbiotic and its impact on post-antibiotic recovery. These clinical trials reflect our continued commitment to R+D and deeper understanding and expansion of our products and their applications.

The prebiotic blend update also ensures we adhere to various international regulatory guidelines as we expand to a wider global community.

First, if you have a body, you have a microbiome. No matter your sex, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity, health is a human issue and health is inclusive.

Our email signup does not distinguish based on gender, but rather on biological sex. For context, there are anatomical differences between male, female, and intersex bodies and variances in the gut microbiomes of different sexes. There are even entirely different microbiomes such as the vaginal and penile microbiomes. While the strains in our Daily Synbiotic have been clinically-studied in heterogenous populations (both male and female) and would be safe and effective for all sexes, providing your sex helps us keep you apprised of research and future products in our pipeline that may be most relevant to you.

No worries, it happens! Just get in touch with us at [email protected] and we’ll ship you a new one right away.
